Year of Graduation: 2017

Carl has interned at Ploughshares, The MIT Press, and Perseus Books. His life’s goal is to write those thick, ugly, wonderful fantasy books you see in secondhand bookshops. And if he can’t write them he wants to help other people write them. Peace, Love, & Publishing.

VERONICA MORENO-NESTOJKO | Co-President

Minors: Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies & Marketing Communications

Year of Graduation: 2017

Veronica moved 3,000 miles away from home just to see seasons change and quickly discovered that she hates humidity and only really likes the Fall. She is currently the Project Manager for the One City One Story project with the Boston Book Festival and has previously interned for The Harvard Common Press and is a barista at Starbucks. Her free time is usually spent eating, tweeting, and falling asleep while watching The Office. She will be unavailable for at least one week when Netflix airs the new episodes of Gilmore Girls. She has never been abroad or set up a 401K but plans on doing both as soon as possible.

DIANA DILORETO | Vice President

Minor: Marketing Communications
Expected year of Graduation: December 2016

Diana went to a Pub Club info meeting on a whim her sophomore year, fell in love with a little magazine called Generic, and never looked back. She has interned at Harvard Common Press, Grubstreet, and Da Capo Press, and is currently the Sales and Permissions intern at MIT Press. She graduates in December, and hopes to one day represent up-and-coming genre writers as a PR agent.

Year of Graduation: 2019

Patrick Groleau is a sophomore Political Communications major with minors in writing and business studies. He is a from a small town in southern New Hampshire and loves to hike and fish. Currently, he is the marketing director of Undergraduate Students for Publishing and Wilde Press. He plans on getting his PhD and working in higher ed. studying labor unions.

Madison is a junior Writing, Literature, and Publishing major with minors in Marketing Communications and Women’s, Gender & Sexuality Studies. When she’s not working at Starbucks, she’s writing nonfiction, eating bread, and catching up on all things Joss Whedon. Madison is currently an editorial intern for BenBella Books and a domestic rights intern for Perseus Books Group. She has been an enthusiastic member of Pub Club since her freshman year and is excited to be on executive board as Treasurer this semester.

MARY BAKER | Secretary

Minor: Marketing Communications

Year of Graduation: 2017

Mary is a senior WLP major with a “P” emphasis and a minor in marketing. She loves getting caught in the rain, long walks on the beach, and a well-placed pun. This is Mary’s fourth year in Pub Club and her second as Secretary (Extraordinaire) on executive board. She is also Head Substantive Editor for the Book Project and Marketing Director (aka meme queen) for Generic Magazine.
Mary has interned at a variety of places in Boston and St. Louis, most recently at Pearson Learning Solutions as an assistant editor in the contracts division.
Mary’s favorite genres are YA and food fiction. Ask her about Station Eleven.

KYLE MADIGAN | Blog Director

Minor: Psychology & Marketing Communications

Year of Graduation: Spring of 2018

Kyle came to Emerson because he liked reading, didn’t enjoy being a writer, and didn’t want to be a teacher. He figured publishing was the only industry where that would work out. While at Emerson he discovered a love for digital publishing, and now he’s both the Director of Digital Publishing at Wilde Press and the Blog Director of the club. He enjoys fantasy, fog, coffee, and pens.

Year of Graduation: Fall 2017

Rachel has been in Pub Club and Generic since her freshman year, and she loves it all. She’s a former intern at Liza Dawson Associates Literary Agency and Ploughshares literary journal, among other companies in Boston and New York. Rachel is the author of Weird But Cute: Beluga Whale (Bearport, 2016) and four more books for kids. She loves Scrabble and challenges anyone and everyone to a game. Rachel’s favorite genres are mystery, dystopian, and social science fiction.

Autumn is from a small town in Western Mass that very few people know exists. She is interested in editing and book design, and has previously read her work at the Berkshire Festival of Women Writers. In her free time she dances, reads science fiction, and eats a lot of dessert.

 

Kelsey

KELSEY AIJALA | Event Coordinator

Major: Marketing Communications
Minor: Digital Media and Culture
Year of Graduation: Fall 2017

Kelsey joined Pub Club as a freshman has been gladly letting it consume her life ever since. In addition to being the Event Coordinator, she is the Art Director for Wilde Press and the Head Designer and a reader for Generic. She has interned at Poughshares Literary Magazine, Applewood Books, and many many marketing agencies. In the rare instances that she has free time you can find her watching TV shows she’s already seen 50,000 times on repeat.
