Hanife Shulte awarded a German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Research Grant

Hanife_200Hanife Schulte was awarded a German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Research Grant for travel to Berlin to research her master’s thesis. In addition, a paper she wrote has been accepted for presentation at the 15th Symposium of the International Brecht Society 2016‏. The symposium, “Recycling Brecht,” will take place June 25–29, 2016, at St Hugh’s College, University of Oxford.

Schulte, who is concentrating in Dramaturgy, started her academic career with a presentation on children’s theater that she delivered at the Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of Americas conference in Boston in 2013. Emerson Associate Professor of Performing Arts Magda Romanska chaired the conference.

On campus, Schulte also served as dramaturg of a play directed by Emerson Senior Distinguished Producing Director-in-Residence Benny Sato Ambush, Anything to Declare?, which was presented by Emerson Stage in October 2014.
